Family

Wed Jul 8, 2009, 5:41 PM
You ever notice how oblivious you are to things when your younger? Especially when it deals with problems in your family or is it that your family is so new that things are "normal"?

Whatever it is I've notice problems in my family that I didn't notice or weren't there before. It seems as though all my family ever does is bitch about stuff and I'm the only "normal" one.

Let's start with my dad...
He makes a lot of jokes some funny others not so much. Like his feminist jokes that usually go too far and cause us(mom, sister, me) to get angry. He tends to ramble on about stuff no one cares about and I tend to feel bad the way he's treated sometimes. He gets angry over the smallest things like, sports games and when in the car. He has high blood pressure for a reason. He doesn't approach tense situations well and ends up getting bitched at by my mom. He's a good dad but sometimes he just needs to calm down and pick up after himself.

My mom...
She picks up after us, makes us dinner and takes care of everyone. She's a great mother but sometimes it seems she gets so irritated at the small things especially when it comes to my dad. It's like she's annoyed a lot of the time which makes the air a little tense. It's almost like she's cranky a lot of the time.

My sister, Stephanie...
She's 5 years older than me and takes me a lot of places. I talk to her the most and I know one of her largest secrets and I was the first to know in the family. She gets so irritated so quickly by the smallest things. Sometimes I just want to tell her to shut up. She ends up getting into tense arguments with my dad and once I was so annoyed at how they were bitching I screamed "STOP". Around her I sometimes feel like I'm the older one not her.

My brother, Peter...
He's 8 years older than me and when he was in his teens to his twenties I felt like I didn't even have a brother. Especially in his early twenties, he would get up late and stay out late, so sometimes I didn't see him for a week because of school. He's made so many financial mistakes early on that are still affecting him today. By looking at all the games in his room you'd think he'd have a lot of money, but that's were most of his money goes: video games and live action role play(LARP). He's 25 and working at a family restaurant as a delivery boy. He doesn't have a real job and to top that he still lives at home.

Don't get me wrong I love my family to pieces, particularly when we're sitting around a table talking and laughing. It's some of the funnest times I've had. I guess I just needed to get some of this off my chest, because I've been thinking about it for a while now.
